A Look Back at the Exhibition
From the 4th to the 8th of August, Age UK Norwich proudly presented their 80th Birthday exhibition in the Forum. This event was a significant milestone, celebrating the charity's long-standing commitment to the community.
The exhibition transformed the foyer of the Forum into a vibrant space filled with history and engagement. On the left, a detailed timeline showcased the charity's rich history. Next to it was a befriending corner, inviting attendees to sit down and have a chat. This area fostered connections and conversations among visitors. Attendees could also add their names and pictures to a family tree, chat with our advice staff and health coaches, and even enjoy a jukebox playing nostalgic tunes.

Engaging Talks and Community Support
Alongside the exhibition, the public enjoyed a detailed programme of talks and speeches in the auditorium. Speakers included representatives from Konnect Bus (Access All Areas) and the Centre for Ageing Better. These discussions provided valuable insights and fostered a sense of community.
The exhibition was made possible through the generous support of several local businesses, including Aviva, Home Instead, Gait Smart, and Hatch Brenner. The creative design and execution of the exhibition were brought to life by Image Experiential.
The event kicked off on Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an inspiring speech from the town crier, Bob Lloyd. His words set a celebratory tone for the days to come.

Collaboration with Age Friendly Norwich
Supporting Age UK Norwich, Age Friendly Norwich had a stand for all four days of the exhibition. This collaboration was a fantastic opportunity for the two partners of the Inclusive Norwich Partnership to share and celebrate their work. Most importantly, it allowed them to connect with the public.

Age Friendly Norwich engaged attendees in conversations about their projects and upcoming initiatives. These included mall walking, local street audits, and the Norwich Access Group. Such initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life for older residents in the community.
Reflecting on Community Engagement
The exhibition served as a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how we can collaborate with residents regularly. It highlighted the importance of community engagement and the need for ongoing dialogue.

Many productive conversations took place during the exhibition. The Inclusive Norwich Partnership looks forward to attending more public engagement events in the future. We wish Age UK Norwich a happy 80th birthday!
